I've adored vintage fashion for a long time. Only recently have I started to get into it passionately.
The thing that captivates me about vintage fashion is the appreciation of a womans figure no matter how diverse they all can be. Accentuating and focusing on the natural curvature of a womans body.
My biggest passion at the moment being high waisted jeans! Yet being a curvy UK 14/16 woman with wide hips, it isn't that easy to get a good pair of jeans that actually sit beneath the ribs.
My main issue being that any High Street 'high waisted' jeans would just about squeeze over my hips and sit akwardly on my tummy. Not to mention making my tummy look like I'm about 6 months pregnant from squishing it all in!
So became my life mission to find a pair of vintage style jeans that actually were high waisted and 'big' girl friendly...
After a lot of research online, going through various forums and through peoples reccomendations, I eventually stumbled across Freddies of Pinewood.
The general consensus was that these jeans were fabulous and a wardrobe staple for any vintage girl in the making. Luckily for me, a trip to Camden ment I found a shop that actually stocks Freddies and who also offer a measuring service.

The staff in there were absolutley amazing! Not only did they measure me, they also helped me pick out a style of jeans that flattered my figure (Also prompting me to come back and buy new pairs in the future)
In the end I settled for the Freddies Classic, 34waist in the Long leg style.
Not only do these jeans 'hide' my tummy, they nip in perfectly to my waist and are so comfortable!
The best part about these jeans is that they look brilliant with anything due to them being so versatile. I've worn them both with Creepers and with flats and they look amazing no matter what. I can't wait to get my hands on some more pairs!
